• The workshop will explore the barriers patients perceive that interfere with their ability to be adherent.
•  Specific strategies will be developed and these will be encompassed in a very patient specific action plan.

How do we evaluate and choose a particular therapeutic intervention?

• The important factors that determine why a patient might choose one therapy over another will be explored.
• Both the outcome measures of the studies and the means by which the patient will judge the success of their therapy will be identified. 
• How one interprets study data will be presented. 

An action plan that highlights the Individual criteria for making an informed choice will be developed.

Obesity

While it is clear that obesity provides clear long-term health risks, it is far less clear but no less important to realize that overeating and obesity itself are sometimes used as unconscious solutions to unrecognized life problems, often dating back to childhood but protected by shame, secrecy, and social taboo.  Realizing this, it is only a small step to understanding that eating less and major weight loss can be threatening.  We have developed an important Program to help physicians and medical staffs working with these obese patients, especially those with significant weight loss in mind, to identify and help resolve these problems that typically underlie weight regain after loss, or the failure to lose weight at all.

Most people know how they get fat, simply by eating socially, under stress, anxiety and more.  Do you know why people keep the fat? It is not a genetic disease! No it is not! This workshop explores the roots of the issue why people keep fat and further more will provide you with an action plan and tools to begin the process of weight loss.
